The Planet Fry program has been established to recycle used cooking oil into 100% useable bi-products.  The Planet Fry trucks pick up used cooking oil from restaurants, hospitals and other food service facilities to take to their processing facility.

The bi-products are used to create fuel for the trucks, lessening our carbon foot print as well as reducing our dependency on foreign oil.

In January of 2009, Ettline was awarded an Alternative Fuel Incentive Grant through the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. The AFI grant assisted Ettline in providing an environmentally friendly solution to collect used cooking oil as a service to their customers. Ettline picks up their customers’ used cooking oil, processes it with a partner processing facility and utilizes the Biofuel in their trucks. In addition, they were able to fit part of their fleet with retrofitting; modifying the trucks to run on straight vegetable oil as an alternative fuel. Instead of smelling diesel fuel coming down the highway when and Ettline truck is making a delivery, there is now the smell of French fries in the air.
